Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated annually on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. This tradition has been observed since 1621 and is a day for people to give thanks for the blessings they have received throughout the year. Thanksgiving Day is also celebrated in Canada, Liberia, and some of the Caribbean islands.

The first Thanksgiving Day was celebrated in 1621 by the pilgrims at Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts. They celebrated their first successful harvest and shared a meal with the Native Americans who showed them how to cultivate the land.
